those words from John Piper found me a couple years ago as i was preparing for a bible study, and they have gripped my heart ever since. if we are cultivating hearts and minds of gratitude, it sure is more difficult for evil to creep in, deceive, and make us forget all we have been given.
gratitude produces joy, and a joyful life is a life worth living. there are so many things to be thankful for, and too often i forget to list them. listing the gift, saying it aloud and acknowledging it, makes the gift more meaningful. it also blesses the Lord. praise Him. acknowledge His gifts to you. the big and the small. and guard your heart with gratitude.
lately i've been thankful for...
-- long walks on lunch breaks
-- time and motivation for exercise to keep my body healthy
-- coffee dates with dear friends
-- projects at work that allow me to use my creative side
-- friends who truly know me
-- springtime and warmer weather
-- this blogging community and friends made here
-- patient advice givers
-- Jesus, who never gives up on me
-- the weekends. can i get an amen?
what are you thankful for?
Guardian of the soul..that is beautiful.

My teen daughter has been battling mono and many side effects. I am so thankful that she is on the road to recovery. (: Susan

ya know, I didn't even think about taking walks on lunch breaks (on the 2 days I do work...) lol. but it's such a good way to just get things off your mind. thanks for the idea. I'm totally doing this next week. Also, I'm glad I found your blog today! Excited to be following via bloglovin! I love making new blogging buddies :)
