Do you ever read blogs and wish you knew fun facts about those bloggers like you would a best friend? I know I do. I started my "Five Things" series so you could get to know the random tidbits about my life! Here are five new things for you: Colorado Edition.
1 | I just moved to Colorado.
Okay, so some of you might know this already, but I just moved from Tennessee to Colorado two weeks ago. I now live in Colorado Springs and work on the beautiful grounds of Glen Eyrie. In case you didn't know, Glen Eyrie is a castle. Since taking this job, I have been told my life is like a Disney movie.
2 | I learned about Glen Eyrie and Eagle Lake Camps on a family vacation.
You have probably heard me talk about my years spent at Eagle Lake Camp in Colorado. Well, my parents learned of said camp during a family vacation in Colorado in 2004. We came to tour Glen Eyrie and found a brochure about camp. My parents let me go to Eagle Lake for the next two summers, I worked on staff in 2011, and the rest is history.
3 | I am currently living with another family and taking on the big sister role.
Right now I am living with my best friend's family, which includes her younger brother and sister. I haven't had a sibling in a house with me for years, so it has been fun getting to take on the sister role again. We play games, watch movies, make jokes, and carpool together.
4 | I wish this weren't the rainiest May Colorado has ever seen.
I have spent some time in Colorado, and never has it ever rained this much. During my first week here after my move, it rained, flooded, hailed, and snowed. What? I know. It's crazy. It has since rained almost every day over the past two weeks. They don't tend to get this much rain here, and the native Coloradans are freaking out. ;) They wonder where there blue skies and golden sun have gone! Me too, Coloradans. Me too.
5 | I have never hiked a 14er.
Colorado is full of 14ers and it is on my bucket list to hike one. Once I get acclimated to the crazy thin air up here and the snow melts on the mountains, I'd like to give it a shot. Come with me?
WHAT IS ONE THING I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
SEE OTHER "FIVE THINGS" HERE.
Me too Meg, Me too!
14er was gibberish to me when I moved here last summer! Hoping to do one sometime too. :)
So, it may be just me, but I have no idea what a 14er is. haha. :)

You are basically living my dream life right now ;-) I've lived in Colorado for the academic year of 08/09 and have wanted to move back ever since! And working at Glen Eyrie is awesome! May I ask what you do there?
Getting used to the thin air really takes a while…I remember getting altitude sickness when I first moved to Colorado but it thankfully didn't last long and then I loved spending my weekends in the mountains. The Rocky Mountain National park will forever hold a special place in my hear :)
I'd love to hike a 14er with you! Can I join you?
Of course! We'll try to survive it together. ;)
Haha, I'm tryin'! ;)
Oh nice! Of course: I am part of their marketing team!
Altitude sickness is no joke. Thankfully I have avoided it this far. :)
Thanks so much!
That's okay! It is a mountain that reaches or exceeds 14,000 feet above sea level. :)
Haha! Same for me the first time I was out here!
Come along, Pond!
Awesome, thanks Meg!
