faith // sing your song

this print is one of my absolute favorites from katy's shop. how i haven't bought it yet, i don't know. i'm holding out for christmas time, i guess. these words are a great reminder for me. i have days sometimes (yes, multiple days) where i can't seem to find something to be genuinely joyful about. some days i'm so tired, feeling rejected and like i'm not enough. some days i feel like i've failed life all together.  but then Jesus reminds me that i play a unique part in creation's symphony. no one else can play my part. my day and even my life may not being going as i expected but it's going just as it should be. so i dust the cobwebs off that have crept up over my heart, get back on my feet, and sing my heart out.

// 2 corinthians 4:16-18 // therefore we do not lose heart. though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. so we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

if you have never heard of  thoughts to make your heart sing, you need to get yourself a copy. i even use it as part of my quiet times. here's an entry in it that i just love.
...............................................................................................................................................
the whole world is singing a song. have you heard it?

the wind is whispering it in the trees.
the rain is dancing it on the rooftops.

the whole of creation is singing it out together:
'God loves us. He made us. He's very pleased with us!'

it's the song that's been sung since the beginning.
the song God created everything in His world to sing.
it's the song without words. it's the song you were created to sing too.

we forgot our song long ago when we turned and ran away from God.
but Jesus has come to bring us home to God and give us back our song.

so go on - sing your song!

...............................................................................................................................................

so take heart, brave ones. whatever it is that's beating you down will not last forever. Jesus is bringing us home. do the most you can with the time that is given to you, and all the while keep singing your song.
