christmas traditions // NO. 2

for the past four years, i've led a core group of four college girls. i took over the group during their sophomore year in college. since then, two of them have graduated, one got married this summer and is graduating next week, and one will graduate in may (and then she's getting married!!) i feel so blessed to have a group that has stuck together for so long. that doesn't always work out as some quit coming, or they move, or life just gets in the way, but my girls have stuck with me. they've been committed to our group and they value the community we have and the time we spend with Jesus. i treasure the time we've had together, the times we've laughed, and the times we've cried. we've struggled together, we've persevered, and we've grown. it's a beautiful thing.

each year we've been together, we've had a core group christmas party around the first week of december...right around finals time, but before they would all head home for christmas break. we always do secret santa and draw names around the beginning of november so that we have time to shop and be creative with our gifts. we eat dinner, swap gifts, play games, and watch christmas movies. it's one of the things i look forward to every year!

How special! And that's definitely a rare thing for a core group to stay together that long. P.S.- that tree is AMAZING!
