christmas traditions // NO. 3

my family really values traditions and that's one thing i love about us. for the past eight years, we have roadtripped up to nashville to see andrew peterson's performance of Behold the Lamb of God at the ryman auditorium. it's one of my favorite things to do as a family every christmas, and i'm sad we aren't able to go together this year. we buy our tickets super early to get good seats, and of course, we didn't know at the time that my parents would be in the philippines doing disaster response.  so today i'm heading up to nashville with some family friends instead and meeting up with one of my college besties for the concert. i'm still really excited, but i'll definitely miss having my family with me for this.

the Behold the Lamb album covers the whole story of Christ starting back in the old testament and working its way to Jesus' birth. andrew peterson has done an incredible job weaving this beautiful story into song and it never gets old. if you've never heard the album or of andrew peterson, today's your lucky day! while you're sitting at work, or making dinner, or surfing the world wide webs, listen to this piece of art and experience the christmas story like never before.

do you and your family have any christmas music related traditions? maybe you go see the Nutcracker every year, or there's a concert at your church (like mine!), or maybe you've even been to see Behold the Lamb! share your traditions with me!

That sounds like the best tradition! I love those kind of shows! A tradition we do every year is reading from Mark about Jesus' birth. No can open any gifts until we're done reading.
