one | not everyone has an etsy favorites link. never fear! they probably have pinterest. check out their pinterest pages to see what their style is, and what kind of things they enjoy. i pin items that are from etsy shops ALL the time, so i have no doubt that you can find your new friend's fave etsy items via pinterest.two | i realize that items on etsy can be a little pricey sometimes. it's because they are coming from hardworking individuals with handmade shops, and they are worth every penny. (we like supporting small businesses!) that being said, our price range is $25, so you'll have to be creative with your shopping. you may end up only buying one thing from etsy depending on price. or you could find a few smaller, less expensive items to send. this swap is etsy themed, but you are totally welcome to throw in other things once your etsy shopping is done. for example: you favorite brand of lip balm, some sweet smelling lotion, a pack of sharpie pens (my favorite kind!), etc. you get the idea :)
three | really try to get to know your swap partner. if they have a blog, read it! check out their "about me" page. if they don't have a blog, you have options of twitter, instagram, and again, pinterest, to find out more about them!
four | don't forget to send a note in your package! everyone loves a handwritten note. be sure to include your contact info so you can stay in touch. we're all about making new friends :)

Great tips! I've been Etsy window shopping like crazy and I think I've finally decided what I'll order. It's easy for me to look at prices in Etsy shops and just pass them by but like you said, these are handmade, brick and mortar (often in the home) shops that real people have put a lot of hard work and thought into. That said, it makes me even more excited that you're doing this swap! So excited to shop, package and mail everything up. :) Thanks again for organizing all of this with Amy!

ahhh i know. so many things that i want are too expensive for this swap, but i've found some really cute stuff! plus, finding shops that are having sales is really helpfu! can't wait to see what you've picked out!
