weekend update.

RECAPS
-- two copies of the secret life of walter mitty were delivered to my house last week. come to find out, in my excitement, i ordered the movie in march forgetting that i had already pre-ordered it in february. haha! somebody's getting walter mitty as a birthday gift this year! ;)

-- my core group and i have been dyeing easter eggs together for the past four years. it's one of our traditions. this year two of my girls couldn't make it so it was just alex, her hubs, and myself...dyeing easter eggs and watching finding nemo. the best.

-- i loved our sermon at church Easter morning from matthew 28. "and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." what a beautiful promise!

-- we had a super chill sunday afternoon watching movies, soaking up the sun, and reading books. i finished "the book thief" and ugly cried my way through the last few chapters. it's heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.

OTHER FINDS
-- this post on patience during the journey was what my heart needed to be reminded of this week.
-- the wonderful world of snails. who knew a snail's life could be so magical?
-- have you guys seen this video floating around the world wide webs this week?
-- only the most adorable pictures ever
-- what is your disney personality? i'm mufasa. haha!
-- loved this post on vulnerability. we need more of that.

also, now you need to see the book thief movie. as far as book to movies go, I think they did a pretty fantastic job.

so fun! i watched the first one :) yes!...we read them as a family when i was little, and i've read them multiple times since!

Megan McIlvaine said...

it was seriously so good. i'm going to check out the movie this weekend!

Megan McIlvaine said...

weeeeeell, i don't really have a method per say. i use half a cup of hot water plus a teaspoon or two of vinegar. then i go all kinds of crazy with the dye until i make a color i think will look good. then i just let the egg sit in their for different time periods...depending on how dark or light i want it to turn out!! i do love how they turned out this time around!

Megan McIlvaine said...

yay!!! i can't wait to hear what you think about it!
um, this was the first time your husband has ever dyed eggs?? a momentous occasion!! i love dyeing eggs. we've done it ever since i was little! :) you are never too old for it!

The Chronicles of Narnia is my favorite literary series too! Also, is that one of those glass egg contains?

Okay, there is so much I love in this post. My dad brought home Walter Mitty the other day and we watching it that night. I LOVED it! You summed up The Book Thief perfectly! That video about the World's Toughest Job was so good! I'm Pocahontas!! Chronicles of Narnia is my Harry Potter. But, I do like Harry Potter as well (seen all the movies, read only one book) And I despise olives as well. My mom ate them by the jars when she was pregnant with me and I really feel that is why I don't like them now.

Megan McIlvaine said...

i knew we were friends for a reason!! narnia for life. :)
i think it's porcelain? maybe? it's my friend's and it's from anthropologie!

Megan McIlvaine said...

yay! i am so glad you liked it! it was one of my favorite movies from last year.
i'm reading the harry potter books now. i got a late start compared to everyone else my age who read them in middle school. haha!
