summer beauties.

one of my favorite things about this life are all the different colors we can see. sometimes i like to think about all the colors we can't see or how much more vibrant colors may be in heaven. i'm pretty excited about it. :) pops of color in nature are just another one of those little joys in life for us to appreciate.

a friend of ours created these hybrid day lilies and gave us some that are now planted in the back yard. i love it when they bloom every summer. each one is different and unique. colors you don't see in an average lily.

"therefore i tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. are you not of more value than they? and which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? and why are you anxious about clothing? consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. but if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, oh you of little faith?" || matthew 6: 25-29

i can be SUCH a worrier. i worry about my future a lot. i worry about jobs, where i'll live, how i'll continue to support myself. i worry about my family and friends and their safety. i worry about pleasing every body else.

do not be anxious about anything. it's so convicting, right? i have to constantly remind myself that Jesus is in control, that He is good (all the time), and that, as one created in His image, i am valued far above the rest of creation.  it's so easy to let the pressures and brokenness of the world weigh heavily on our hearts, but we have a King that has conquered all, who is in control of all, and who tells us not to worry because He will take care of it all. praying you feel a weight lifted today, friends, and that you can enjoy this weekend by celebrating the freedom and certainty we have in Christ.

happy friday, brave hearts.

I WANT A HYBRID DAYLILLY!
also...those thoughts afterwords on the scripture - spot on.
i am such a worrier too...anxiety blows :(
but grounding ourselves in the truth that God is bigger, and knows more, and will whether any storm beside us that we face....is comforting and helps to drown out the worry!

aren't they beautiful! i have no idea how long it took him to create these!
gosh, not worrying is such a struggle because i want to be in control and have a plan, etc. it's hard to just trust sometimes.
