will you be my bridesmaid? | THE KLACKNERS

will you be my bridesmaid?

this past weekend, i was in colorado visiting my best friend and her hubs, but i wasn't the only one! my newly engaged sister mer was there as well with her fiance!! we had planned a weekend where we could all be in colorado together, but this was all before the engagement went down. needless to say, i was so excited it happened before our trip so that we could celebrate and talk wedding planning.

mer and i flew into denver last thursday night where beth and bruce picked us up. i about cried hugging my sweet mer in the airport because it had been almost two years since i had seen her last! the miles and moving and life in general have kept us apart, and it was so good to be reunited! on friday morning, mer and beth and i went out for coffee and some girl time while bruce worked. we headed over to old colorado city to jives coffee lounge for some caffeine and chill time.

before too long, mer said she had gifts for us and pulled out two cute boxes for beth and me. our eyes started watering immediately when we read the box tops. beth and i had secretly hoped we might be in mer's wedding and are so excited to be able to stand with that beautiful girl on her wedding day! it means the world to me to be a part of mer's life and be allowed to walk with her through this next part of her journey.

david, mer's fiance, also asked bruce to be a groomsman. we are pumped to all be in a wedding together! it's going to be so much fun!! texas, friends, family, and a wedding! what's not to love?

now that we are offish, we are diving into helping with wedding planning. (let's be honest, we'd been pinning like crazy since the engagement happened.) i've been in a few weddings, and it's so fun to see everyone's different styles and choices for their big day. most importantly though, it's best to remember to prepare for your marriage and not just your wedding day. i can't wait to see mer and dave continue to grow in their relationship with one another and the Lord as they prepare for their marriage and begin that journey in just a few months! february 2015 is going to be great!

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A BRIDESMAID?

This is so fun! I've been in 4 different weddings and I think last summer's was my last. I love bridesmaids boxes! I made boxes for my bridesmaids and last year my friend Caitlin sent me a bridesmaid box! Planning weddings far apart is kind of tricky. When I got married my best friend Caitlin helped me with everything. But when she got married I was living in California so I couldn't help out as much as I would have liked. Still totally worth it!

the distance makes planning so difficult! i know it was hard when i was trying to plan beth's bachelorette party in colorado when i was all the way in tennessee. :) i enlisted a lot of help for that one :)

i love bridesmaid boxes too! i like how each bride customizes them to their own taste. :)
