colorado camp days.

During my last Colorado adventure, the gang and I headed up to Eagle Lake Camp for chapel on Sunday morning. Eagle lake is where I met my best friend, her future husband, my little sister, and her future husband! We're just one big happy family. ;)  Needless to say, it's a special place to me.

I hadn't been up to camp since the Waldo Canyon fire happened two years ago. I'd seen pictures and heard the stories of how Jesus put a circle of protection around Eagle Lake during that week, but it was completely different being there in person.  Evidence of the fire is still there, of course, and will be for a very long time, but it is a wonderful reminder of how Jesus saved that place so that it can continue to be used for his purposes. It is a beautiful thing.

I loved going back to Eagle Lake with the people who helped make camp so special for me in the first place. It was so fun seeing old camp staff and campers from my previous summers there. We spent the morning remembering past experiences, talking to old friends, and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

WHAT PLACES ARE SPECIAL TO YOU?

Black Mountain, NC. And Charleston SC. Black Mountain because we spent summers up there, and it's where I learned to love Jesus more. Charleston because it's a great little city and it's where The Hubs and I started to love each other!
