MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES.

Two weeks ago I left work on a Friday and headed to the mountains of North Carolina. My family and some friends were staying at a cabin in the mountains, and I went up for the weekend to celebrate my mama's birthday and my parents' anniversary. The drive was breathtaking. I basically wanted to stop every five seconds to take pictures of the rolling mountain ranges, but I realized it would take me six hours instead of three to arrive at my destination if I kept stopping. So I just stared instead and tried to take it all in without running off the road. :)

We were staying near Franklin, but also spent a day in Highlands, which is gorgeous!! We ate yummy sandwiches at Mountain Fresh Grocery, stopped to look at waterfalls, shopped in the rain, played the longest game ever of Settlers of Catan, and witnessed the most glorious sunset. In advance, I'd like to say sorry I'm not sorry for all of the sunset pictures. I will forever be that person that is in awe of every single day's end.

WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO WEEKEND?

I take too many sunset photos myself (if that's even possible (; ) but those are gorgeous photos! Looks like a beautiful place. I'm headed for a lakeside vacation tomorrow. I'm sure I'll take plenty of sunset pictures.

We went to the Smokey Mountains for our honeymoon and LOVED IT. So gorgeous and they are literally smokey. We also hiked on the Appalachian trail which hugged the border of North Carolina. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Oh fun!! I think it would be awesome to hike the whole A.T. some time...but that would require me taking a few months off work ;)

Yes! Well, I am just adding it into each post for right now until I can figure out another way. Thanks for your help, girl!

It was! When you come to Tennessee, I'll take you to the mountains. They are different from the Rockies, but still beautiful. They have a softness to them. :)
