Q & A | MEET RACHEL

Today I get to introduce you to Rachel of Oh Simple Thoughts! She's been hanging out on my sidebar this month, and I hope you've had time to visit her sweet blog. She is co-hosting a blog retreat in October in my home state, and I'm so excited that I get to attend! It's going to be so fun to meet all those bloggers in person and be friends in real life. :) Anyway, without further ado, here's Rachel!

When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging in highschool, sort of. I would say I got more serious about it when Ben (my husband) and I got engaged my senior year of college, and only set out to update friends and family on our engagement and marriage. Since the beginning of this year my blog has become my creative outlet and my stress relief. It has led me to a whole community of Godly women that I know call best friends, and has pushed me closer to the Lord. Crazy how things change!

Where do you live, and what is one of your favorite things do to in your city?
My husband and I live in Mississippi in our college town (Mississippi State University). We both went to State, and my hubby is working on his PhD so we are still here a little longer, and I love it. My favorite thing is to go to the Farmer's Market down the street from our house on Saturdays and then to enjoy a nice breakfast at a local fav, I always rotate my favorite coffee shop, and biscuit shop (which is also where I work part time).

What has been your favorite recipe this summer?
Salsa. I have made it every couple weeks and kept it in the fridge. It is so easy because you just blend it all in a food processor and your are done. I give it to friends in mason jars, and put it on everything! So fresh and so yummy!

What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I LOVE design. From typefaces to pretty colors I love it all. I have really enjoyed teaching myself to use Photoshop and Illustrator, and I find that creating pretty things brings me a lot of joy. I also love to be in the kitchen, it is my happy place and helps me relieve stress from a hard day.

Current favorite song/band?
I would say this answer will always be Needtobreathe, I am loving their new album and Ben surprised me with tickets to see them live in Birmingham (this will be my 4th concert) and I am so giddy about it!

There ya go, folks! Don't you want to head on over to Rachel's blog now and become BFFs? I thought so. :) If you are interested in becoming part of the Rivers and Roads team, use the code HELLO for 30% off all advertising options!
