OCTOBER GOALS.

October is here, friends! This is the third month I've been sharing my monthly goals with you all, and it has been really good for me! I'll be honest, I didn't do so great this past month, but that is okay. There is always October! Plus, I tend to set too many goals for myself that end up rolling over to the next month. I need to remember to take on less so that I can actually get things accomplished!

I am so very excited about this month! There is a blogger retreat I'll be attending in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee, and I can't wait to meet more blog friends in real life!  I also have several projects in the works. Some for the blog and some in my every day life. All of that plus checking everything off my autumn bucket list! I'm going to be one busy lady!

SEPTEMBER REVIEW

1 | Do a reader survey - Oops. Nope. Still haven't checked this one off the list.

2 | Open an Etsy Shop - Double oops. I've put this on the back burner for a bit.

3 | Complete three Blog Life chapters - Triple oops. Can you tell I did an awesome job on my goals last month?? ;)

4 | Host a Q&A session  -  I did! You guys asked some great questions, and I had so much fun answering them! Maybe I'll do this one again sometime. :)

5 | Read The Circle Maker - I ordered the book, so that counts for something right?

6 | Take a Skillshare class - You bet I did! I finished two classes on social media and I'm halfway through a Photoshop class! The classes have actually been really helpful, and I'm excited to take more!

OCTOBER GOALS

1 | Bedroom makeover - I am painting, rearranging, buying new bedding, and recreating the space. It's a lot to do, but it will slowly and surely come together.

2 | Take a photography class - I'm planning on finishing my Photoshop course on Skillshare and taking a photography class on there as well. One thing I miss about being in school is learning. Don't get me wrong, I don't miss the testing, but I never want to stop learning. It's good for me!

3 | Start reading The Circle Maker - Currently, I'm reading two other books (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Cold Tangerines), so I'm going to start slow on this one and set small goals. Let's say I'll read two chapters. :)

4 | Complete 5 Blog Life chapters - I am so very behind on this course. It is such a great one, and I really need to make time to finish the series. Have any of you taken/finished this class?

WHAT GOALS ARE ON YOUR LIST THIS MONTH?

Girl, that is a HEFTY list and you're looking a little back logged from September ;) HOWEVER, you achieved some great things in September INCLUDING attending a blog mixer in another state. :)

I've been quite intrigued by this skillshare business - I may take a look into it. Have you only done the photoshop class? Can you recommend any others? :)

I keep hearing such good things about Skillshare - I might have to check it out! Also, I've just about finished Blog Life - I'm not 100% done, but I probably did 3/4 of it over the summer? SUCH a good class!

bedroom makeover yayyyyyyyyy!!!! woohooooooo
i miss being in school to learn too - but those tests are for. the. birds.

I always got SEVERE test anxiety. Like shaking hands/feeling like I might throw up. Fun times! I don't miss that part of school :)

Meg McIlvaine said...

Yeah girl! Take a look at Skillshare. I think they have a lot of great class options!

Amy said...

i did too - thankfully my senior year was a lot of "round table discussion" for tests (woohoo for youth ministry! haha)

BAHA. I know. Right after I said I needed to take it slow...BUT I only have 4 goals this month instead of 6, so maybe that was my way of slowing down. :)

I took two classes for work and they were good for work, but I probably wouldn't have taken them otherwise. I'm also taking the Photoshop course for work, but let's be honest, it's good for my personal use as well. I'm loving it! This first one is just the basics but I've still learned several things. I think they have 3 Photoshop classes in that series, so they go over a lot! I can't wait to do more!

I did bloglife! LOVED it! I love that you can go back through it. But it does take time to sit down and really delve into to get the most out of it.

I love your goals!
Doing BlogLife is still on my list of things to do! Maybe in the new year!

Meg, you are killing it in Skillshare! I have yet to make it through one class. I want to hear all the things you are learning. Also, I can't wait to see your finished bedroom! Wahoo!

Christina Conrad said...

haha, I'm the same way - there's just too much I want to do! :)

I just signed up for the illustrator course - and bonus - it counts as work, so I'm really excited. It's a good thing they have that though - sometimes I think people at the office expect me to make magic happen, ha!

I'm impressed with your progress on Skillshare! I have really been struggling to make time for those even though I want to make them more of a priority. How do you make sure to find the time for them?

Meg McIlvaine said...

All of my classes so far have been for work (even though the Photoshop class is great for my personal hobbies as well!) so I've gotten to work on the classes while at work. It's great!

Meg McIlvaine said...

Thanks lady! It's nice that I get to do the classes while at work!
Eeeeps. I know. Thanks for helping me make so many decisions!

Meg McIlvaine said...

Thanks girl! Blog Life has been great...I can't wait to complete more of it!

Meg McIlvaine said...

Oh yay!!! I'm glad to hear it! I really am excited to get into more of the classes. I have really enjoyed it so far. :)

Meg McIlvaine said...

Yesssss. I love getting to take the classes at work! It's one of the only ways I would get them done!

Elizabeth Mayberry said...

I agree Emily! It is so hard. That is why I am just buying one class at a time :)
