Let me give you a little glimpse of Britt who is the woman, the creative, and the designer behind Yellow Umbrella. I wanted you to hear a part of her story because I think the pursuit of art is so beautiful.
"Design for me has never been something I have done, it has been a lifestyle. I can remember at a very young age creating artwork with just a few colors of chalk over any concrete surface around, only to wait for the rain to come to wash it away so that I could start creating once again. As I grew older I began doodling on any piece of paper put in front of me. Not only that, but I fell in love with paper and the art of notes. Isn't it such a great feeling to receive a handwritten note in the mail? I spent the majority of my young adult life focusing on becoming an elementary teacher, and then later counseling middle and high school students. It was such a rewarding time in my life but I was missing something...design. They say you should make your interests you career, well that is exactly what I did. I began freelancing under the name of Yellow Umbrella and later opened up my first Etsy Shop. I am now focusing on stationery and operating under Yellow Umbrella Stationery. We want every person to realize they can afford and use great design in their everyday life as well as special occasions."
I think the "Bonjour" cards from Yellow Umbrella might be my favorite. Mostly because I've never been to Paris, but it just looks magical, and I'd love to go some day. For now, I can just stare at these cards and keep on dreaming. :)
Today, I am giving away a $30 credit to Yellow Umbrella, so you can pick out your own piece of Paris, or other cards that catch your eye. As a special gift to you, Yellow Umbrella is offering 40% off all products to my readers until the end of November! Use code: RIVERS&ROADS
