CHRISTMAS FAVORITES

Oh hello, brave hearts! Today I'm sharing some of my Christmas favorites along with Sam and Beth. We all love to read Treasures and Travels, and their post of favorites was so fun that we decided to join in! Christmas is my favorite holiday, and it's full of some of my favorite things! Christmas trees, twinkly lights, time with friends and family, my grandmother's homemade fudge, gift giving, games, Christmas carols, traditions, Christmas movies, snowflakes, warm woolen mittens, celebrating Jesus' birth...the list goes on and on. I'm excited to share some of those things with you!

FAVORITE CHRISTMAS...

MOVIE: I have more than one favorite! Two of them are White Christmas and Elf (obvi.) I grew up watching White Christmas every single year with my family. I can quote the movie and sing all of the songs. :) The same goes for Elf. LOVE that movie. I laugh so much every single time. Also, a friend pointed out the other day that the Elf date where they get coffee and look at Christmas trees all night would probs be my favorite of all time. They were right.

DRINK: I'm a classic hot chocolate kind of girl. My mama makes the best homemade hot chocolate. It is rich and creamy and gets better with each sip. No lie! It is SO good.

ALBUM: Music is my jam. I love the classic Bing Crosby Christmas album, A Johnnyswim Christmas, and I really love the new Rend Collective Campfire Christmas!

BAKING: Peanut butter balls. They are my favorite. Delicious, homemade chocolate and peanut butter goodness. They are so easy to make and a classic Christmas staple. Yum town.

TRADITION: My family loves traditions, and we have so many of them! For the past eight years, we have headed up to Nashville for Andrew Peterson's Behold the Lamb of God concert at The Ryman. It's my favorite tradition and one of the most beautiful days of my year. I missed it this year since I'm at Disneyworld, but there is always next year! :)

ORNAMENT: Hmmm. I have this one ornament that is a snowman s'more wrapped up in a sleeping bag. He's pretty cute. Another favorite is a beautiful star my parents brought home from their disaster response trip to the Philippines last year. I love the way the light shines through it.

MEMORY: Living in Tennessee, we don't typically have snow on Christmas. But a few years ago on Christmas morning, I woke up to over eight inches of snow (that's a lot for us!) and a world blanketed in white!! It was the perfect and most magical white Christmas.

FOOD: Does puppy chow count? I feel like it's a Christmas food. Also, if you can't tell, I love peanut butter and chocolate. And covered in powdered sugar ( AKA snow.)

SMELL: Christmas trees. I love the smell of Fraser Firs, and I wish I could keep that smell in my house all year long. If I had to pick between a bouquet of flowers and a bouquet of boughs of Fraser, Fraser would win every time.

VERSE: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. | Isaiah 9:6

Oh my gosh! I just rushed over to Spotify to listen to Johnnyswim Christmas. I had no idea they had one! I also listened to Bing Crosby all day at work yesterday.

You should listen to The Lone Bellow. Similar vibe and so good. Start with "Green Eyes and a Heart of Gold"
