TECH GEAR | KANCHA

Last summer it became time to say goodbye to my first Macbook. I'd had it since my sophomore year of college, and over time it had become like a little grandpa running in slow motion. For instance, it was taking over thirty minutes just to pull up my email. Ain't nobody got time for that. So I bit the bullet and replaced it with a shiny and slightly smaller Macbook (#appleloverforlife), which I lovingly named Flynn (AKA Flynn Rider. Duh.) With a new computer comes the need for new tech gear, so I was on the hunt for the perfect laptop sleeve. I wanted something that wasn't too bulky and would be easy to use while traveling or hopping to and from coffee shops and friends' houses.

When I found KANCHA, I knew my search for the perfect laptop sleeve was complete. I was in love with the colorful hand stitched designs and the fact that it was made of all natural materials: felt and leather. Not only does KANCHA create wonderful handmade products, but they are also committed to creating products that are ethically made.

ABOUT KANCHA:
"We make lifestyle accessories for urban nomads. Since we founded our company in 2013 in Berlin, we have been making design products from natural and locally sourced materials in Kyrgyzstan. And we ensure decent working conditions for our craftspeople as well as premium quality and design for our clients. Every product comes with a handmade label personally signed by one of the craftspeople in Kyrgyzstan to allow the client to learn more about the person and the story on our website."

I am all about supporting companies like this. Ones that not only value the quality of their product but also value the people who work for them. I've been using my KANCHA sleeve for a couple of months now and can honestly say it is incredibly well made and the natural materials have molded perfectly around my laptop. If you're looking for some new tech gear, I suggest starting (and ending) your search with the folks and products at KANCHA.

What do you look for when shopping tech gear? Had you ever heard of KANCHA? Visit their site and tell me which products are your favorite!

Flynn is a great name for a computer! I named mine Morgenstern like S. Morgenstern the fake author of the Princess Bride book.
