Anyone immediately bust out their most dramatic Adele voice when they read that title? Just me? Okay, that's cool, that's cool.
So friends, the other day I thought "Hey Megs, you kinda ghosted your little blog three years ago and now you jumped back in as if nothing happened and everyone still remembers you. Maybe you should re-introduce yourself."
There's a lot to catch you up on and not every little thing needs its own post, so I thought maybe we should catch up in bits and pieces. I'll give you a few updates on life since you last saw me (I'll miss some for sure, sorry) and for all the new friends around here maybe I'll give ya some fun facts about little old me.
Okay, deep breath, here we go.
One | I started dating this really cute guy from Minnesota 2 1/2 years ago, got engaged 6 months ago, and we got married 2 months ago today! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already knew that. If you missed our proposal story, you should check it out. It's a good one, in my opinion. :) Lots and lots coming about wedding planning, weddings themselves, and more!
Two | About three years ago I started struggling with some pretty major anxiety. The terrible, awful, doesn't-fight-fair kind of anxiety. Let's be honest, when does anxiety ever fight fair? It doesn't. The past year has been worlds better, but I can't say I'm "healed". And I might not ever be. But this last year I've worked really hard to cope with anxiety in healthier ways. I've got a lot to say about this one, so it'll get it's own post someday soon. For now, if you struggle with anxiety, I want you to know you are not alone, you are loved, and it can get better.
Three | Outdoor adventures are my favorite. Whether it's a fun hike, hammocking, sitting by the water, a chill bike ride with my husband, or sometimes sitting on my front porch watching the leaves dance in the wind. I just love being outside, and adding in a pretty view doesn't hurt.
Four | I'm originally from Tennessee, but moved to Colorado over four years ago! My husband says I've lost my accent, but it comes out to play when I'm around family or super tired.
Five | I heart coffee dates. Give me an iced latte and time to settle into a good conversation and I'm a happy girl.
Six | The best book I've read in the last couple of years is Beautiful Outlaw by John Eldredge. It's all about the personality of Jesus, and I can honestly say it changed my life and it refreshed the ways I communicate and engage with Jesus.
Seven | I am an introvert. I can socialize with the best of them for approximately three hours and then I need me some quiet time. You can tell when I start to shut down because I get very quiet and reserved (and sometimes grumpy. Sorry if you have experienced this.) I promise it's not you, it really is me.
Eight | We recently became first-time homeowners! The House on Willamette is our pride and joy and we are so pumped to be on this new adventure as homeowners and Airbnb hosts!
Nine | I'm a type nine on the Enneagram. Any other nines out there? Of course there are, but you might answer so quietly I won't hear you. ;) (Shout-out to my friend Laura. 😉) Sleeping At Last finally released our song, you guys, and it is beautiful! I've loved using the Enneagram to learn more about myself -- my strengths and weaknesses -- this year. Can't wait to dig deeper!
Tell me something about you!
