tonight i sat out on the back porch and stared up at the moon and the stars.

this is one of my favorite past times.

to be silent and listen while the rest of my side of the world sleeps.

i love hearing the crickets chirp. 

listening to the stirring of the wind.

just around the river bend.

the moon was so bright tonight.

a light in the darkness.

"if i say, 'surely the darkness will hide me
   and the light become night around me,'
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
   the night will shine like the day,
   for darkness is as light to you."

looking at the stars in the sky,

i am reminded and overwhelmed by the size of the universe

and how incredibly small i am in comparison.

so thankful for a God who finds me more precious than these things.

glad that He gives us beautiful creations like stars to gaze at.

amazed that He created something to give us light in the darkness.
