snow day.

winter storm leon decided to make an appearance in chattanooga despite the weatherman's prediction that it would pass around us. i was already at work when the snow started coming down and automatically turned into a five year old. i'm really just a child masquerading as an adult, y'all. needless to say, i was quite distracted all day. snow is one of my favorite things on this earth. it's beautiful and magical and fills me with wonder. snow showers also provide a great opportunity to bust out some Frozen tunes. so, do you wanna build a snowman?

i was so anxious all day about driving home. it's not the driving in the snow that worries me....it's the idiot drivers who are also out on the roads driving all cray cray. i wish i could show y'all all the pictures popping up on facebook yesterday of cars running off the road or flipped head first in ditches. like we needed anything else to add to the southern stereotype of not being able to drive in the snow. ;)

my sweet dad came and picked me up from work so i wouldn't have to drive with all the crazies. our hilly neighborhood streets are covered in snow and ice making it impossible for me to get out this morning. so i'm taking it easy, going sledding, and drinking some hot chocolate by the fire. i didn't think we would actually get any snow this year, so i'm not going to let it go to waste!

how do you spend snow days?

We don't ever get it here either. And our boys LOVED it! The oldest had seen snow before, but the little one just kind of went outside and stood there, taking it all in... pretty funny to watch!

ahhhh so jealous of you and ALL the snow! we're just getting flurries here - it won't stick :( :( :(
BUT you enjoy that snow day girl - get your sled on!
(ps your dad is so cute - i would have been scared to drive too!)

Ah, how fun! We've had entirely toooooo much snow up here in PA this year, and to make matters worse, I legit live on a mountain, so when it snows, there's no going anywhere for us! but I'm with you….the best way to spend a snow day is snuggled up with hot cocoa and a fire!

I am so jealous of everyone's snow photos and snow days! I love snow days and the chance to stay cozy, go walking in the snow (sledding, too!!!!), and all of that. There's something so cheery about snow days, right?

p.s. I love dads. My dad does the same thing when it's snowing! :)

I spend snow days cuddled inside with fuzzy socks, big sweatshirts, and leggings. we get them here a lot more frequently so on days like today (that look a lot like that) I have to go to work. but we have snow plows here :) and normal drivers!

Ahhhh I'm so jealous! It's in the 70's here today and there isn't even snow on the nearby mountains this year :(

I love how light the snow looks, crunch wise. Some of our family in FL is having snow days today too. Insane

I'm echoing Amanda's jealousy! I love the snow! I'm so glad you shared it with us so I can pretend to have a snow day with you. The last time I had a snow day was in 2011 and I had two weeks of snow days, it was crazmazing! Two full weeks watching movies, hanging out in blogland, and hanging out with the dogs.
