AUGUST GOALS.

I started making monthly goals for myself a couple of months ago, but I have not been sharing them with you! I know we are already halfway through August, and I have already completed some of the items on my list, but I wanted to share them with you so that it will hold me accountable! Once a month, Beth, Samantha, and I get together on Google Hangouts to talk blogging goals and dreams. Sam is really great at asking me what my goals are or making me write them down if I haven't already. :) This new habit really does help with keeping my blog life more organized and on track.

1 | Update all blog pages
I want all of my blog "pages" to look uniform, and I have been working on that over the past couple of weeks. I've got a little more work to do!

2 | Re-design blog
As you can see, the majority of this has already been done! Last year, the amazing Kiki of In Its Time did the first major overhaul of my blog design and I loved it!! She is great.  I got on a roll one night and stayed up until about 1a.m. finishing most of the re-design!

3 | Do a reader survey
I'm nosey and want to know more about y'all! ;)

4 | Complete more chapters of the Blog Life course
I truly am loving A Beautiful Mess' Blog Life course...it's just finding time to sit down and complete more chapters that is the tough part. I'm hoping to have a few more done by the end of the month.

5 | Take a Skillshare class
I am actually taking Skillshare classes for my job and would also love to take some design and hand-lettering classes for fun! Have you taken any Skillshare classes? Which ones have been your favorites?

6 | Open an Etsy shop
This has been on the to-do list for a LONG time, and to be honest, I'm not sure it will get done this month either. (Sorry Sam!) Currently my prints are for sale via Society6, but I would love to get them on Etsy and have them available as downloads for purchase.  Working full-time during the day and blogging at night doesn't leave me enough time to run a full-fledged shop where I can print, package, and ship prints on a regular basis. So I think digital downloads may be the way to go for a while!

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS THIS MONTH?

The last one is the biggest problem for me as well. I started a shop over a year ago, and I have the hardest time just keeping it up do date, so it barely gets traffic. Maybe someday.

These are awesome goals! I seriously love goal posts -- they are always so inspiring and I love hearing what everyone wants to accomplish! You are such a driven, awesome blogger and I love reading your posts :) You reminded me that I would also love to do a reader survey and take a skillshare class sometime soon!

These are great goals! I love that you three skype once a month too. I think I need to do that with a few ladies. :)

Do you have posts about how you keep your blog life organized and on track? I'd love to know what some of your most helpful habits and resources are! I've worked hard this year to get to that place and I'm thinking about posting what works for me...I am still looking for a better way to keep my specific blog post to-do's organized though!

Love your goal post, Meg! What a fun goal to open an Etsy shop!

I just did a reader survey a few weeks ago! It's really fun - I loved watching the responses roll in! My favorite question was just about where people live. It was so cool to see blog friends show up all over the country!

I am so proud of you little lady!

PS: It looks like the people want blog advice from you ;) Better give them what they want!

I just started sharing my monthly goals on my blog for the first time this month, so it's nice to find others who have just started sharing too. =)
And I really like your new design!

Thanks for the link, Meg! I'm sooo in love with you new look and love that you DIY-ed it all, too. Doesn't it feel great to do it all yourself--even if it is crazy frustrating and time-consuming, too? :)

And hooray for a future Etsy shop! That's so exciting!

p.s. Your goals totally reminded me that I need to start BlogLife. I've had it for a couple months now and still haven't had a chance to sit down and work on it...

I definitely need to get around to updating all of my blog pages--planning to do that soon but I haven't decided exactly what I want to do yet so that's slowing me down.

wohoo do the digital downloads - I think that would be fantastic!
I need a little blog re-haul too.
I'm loving all of your blog goals! I need some hahaha

It takes so much work and dedication!! I'm hoping to get it up and running soonish. :)

Megan McIlvaine said...

Thanks so much, Gina!! You should start a Skillshare class! Seriously, it is so inexpensive!

Megan McIlvaine said...

I did my re-design myself...with lots of help from google I already knew some things about HTML and formatting and such, but I did google a lot for CSS coding. :)

Megan McIlvaine said...

I have not written any posts like that yet, but it IS on my to-do list, so keep an eye out for them. ;)

Megan McIlvaine said...

Thanks friend!

Megan McIlvaine said...

Yes!! I can't wait to find out where all my readers are from! I think that is so fun. :)

Megan McIlvaine said...

Haha!! I've got it on my list of posts to write!! :)

Megan McIlvaine said...

Yay!! Goals really are so great. And thank you!

Megan McIlvaine said...

Kiki!! It does feel so good...gosh it is frustrating sometimes though. There are a few things i need to fix but aren't a huge deal, so I haven't made them a priority. :)

Start that class!! It is so good. I'm barely started...like lesson 6 or so, but I've loved it so far.

Megan McIlvaine said...

Yeah! That's one thing that kept me from doing it for so long. I didn't know what I wanted it to look like!

Megan McIlvaine said...

Yay!! Thanks for pushing me to get these things done!

Megan McIlvaine said...

Thank you, friend!!
This whole setting up and Etsy shop is taking a lot longer that I imagined, but I'll get it done. :)

I'll be watching for them!!! :)
