Our Favorite Puppy Items

As you may have heard, we recently became new dog owners. My husband never had a dog growing up, and I've had three. So with our powers combined, we're going to make it.😉 While I'm not a puppy expert at all, I have learned some things along the way. Every dog is different, so say while some toy/food/leash etc. might work great for my pup, your doggy might enjoy something else. Today I wanted to share some puppy items we've found to be helpful!

Slow Feed Dog Bowl
I love this bowl because it keeps pups from eating too quickly. It makes them eat around the center instead of being able to dive right into their food. The slow feed bowl is said to help with your doggy's digestion and to prevent bloating/funny tummy problems.

Soft-Sided Travel Crate
We got this for car rides and for camping! It's very easy to put up and take down -- a metal frame with soft sides so it's durable but breathable. We found out Aspen hated riding in this with all of the sides zipped up, but if we unzip the top, she can stick her head out and see us and that makes her a perfectly happy girl!

Invincible Chains
We were having trouble finding a toy that Aspen would play with/chase. My friend Gretchen suggested these -- she has a Catahoula Leopard dog (Aspen is a mix of this and a Lab) and said her pup LOVES to play with this, so I thought we'd give them a try. I love them because Aspen can seriously not destroy them -- at least she hasn't yet.😂

Ruffwear's Knot-a-Leash
Ruffwear makes durable and long-lasting products. I love the carabiner on this leash. It twists to lock so there's no risk of your pup getting loose from the leash. I also like the round design of the leash itself -- I think it's easier and more comfortable to hold as compared to a flat leash. On a side note: I'm also eyeing this harness from Ruffwear.

Benebone Dental Chew Toy
My mama actually recommended this chew bone for Aspen because she gives it to their pup. So far it's been a great positive "replacement" to give Aspen when she starts chewing on something she shouldn't (like Shane's socks.😂) It's great for her gum health, and I'm sure she thinks it tastes great -- bacon flavored! Sidenote: these bones are not edible, so keep an eye on your puppers when they are chewing this to make sure they don't break off a chunk and eat it. We haven't a problem with this.
