Maybe you're new to my little corner of the internet or maybe you've been a long-time reader and friend of Rivers and Roads. Regardless, there might be a few things you don't know about me! And because I'm all about healthy transparency, I wanted to share a few things to help you get to know the gal behind the blog a little bit better.😊
1 | I'm obsessed with autumn.
If you can't tell by the photos in this post or all of the Instagrams I share, I am in love with autumn. What's funny is in the rest of life I don't typically gravitate toward yellow. I don't own many yellow things, yellow isn't my favorite color, etc. But yellow aspens have every piece of my heart and make me come alive.
2 | I leave cups of water all over our house.
My husband told me this fun fact about myself.😂 It's true, I do this all the time. And I don't know why! But I'll leave multiple cups around the house, sometimes completely full, and sometimes with three sips left. Maybe it's so I always have a cup when I need it and don't have to go to the kitchen. Haha! Silly me.
3 | I have walked quite the road with anxiety.
You can read my story here. I've struggled with anxiety for about three years now and strongly believe that we need to talk about it more because SO many of us are affected by it but feel extremely alone because not many of us openly talk about it. It's been so easy for me to feel like a burden because of my anxiety, but I've learned you are not a burden for having burdens. Anyone else feel this way? I've learned one of the healthiest things we can do is to speak truth to ourselves and let others speak truth to us as well to fight off the fears that cripple us and our minds. There is hope and healing, friends.😊
4 | I love Hallmark Christmas movies.
Listen, I don't care what you say. I will watch Hallmark Christmas movies until my dying day. Yes, I know they are cheesy beyond belief. And yes, I know all seven million of them have the exact same plot. And I know the acting can be subpar. But I DON'T CARE. I think it's a comfort thing. I feel comfortable knowing that every movie is going to be filled with magical Christmas spirit and that there is always a happy ending.
5 | Going anywhere with my husband is literally my most favorite thing.
I'm very much about being "with" people. I'm an introvert, but I honestly don't love being alone. I love sitting in silence with someone else while I work on a project or something. I think that's why I like coffee shops so much. I get to be with people but not be bothered by them. Haha! But I love being with my husband as much as we can. He's my rock and my biggest supporter. He's my best friend and favorite person to hangout with and adventure with and laugh with. Oh and this weekend I get to join him in Florida after a work conference for a mini vacation and some time at Disney!!
