1 | I don't work in my field of study.
All of my full-time jobs have been in marketing, and I have zero schooling in that area. My degree is in interior design. Ha! So everything I know is from teaching myself or through experience and the kindness of knowledgeable coworkers. I've learned there are a lot of solid marketing principles to work from, but also it's really a big game of trial and error. The marketing and social media world is ALWAYS changing, an eternal experiment, so I just learn as I go and try to educate myself as much as possible!
2 | I'm four years older than my husband.
And it doesn't even matter. Years and years ago, I used to think it was a big deal to have an age gap, but you get to a certain point in life where you realize it really doesn't matter, especially if the two of you are in the same-ish stage of life. I just tell him I get to check out the new years before him to make sure it's safe. So far so good.😉
3 | I tend to leave lights on all around our house.
This drives my husband a little bit crazy. Sorry honey! To be fair, I think I'm getting better at remembering to turn the lights off when I leave a room, BUT I also have this thing where I just NEED light to be in the house. It makes me feel safe, ya know?
4 | I have never been across the Atlantic.
I know! Neither has Shane! We've been to Central + South America a couple of times, but those are the only times we've been out of the country. I'd love to cross the pond one day and visit Scotland and the places my family is from. There are also multiple countries in Europe I'd love to see. Norway also seems pretty cool, based on my experience watching Frozen one hundred times.😂 Have you been? What are your favorite places to see?
5 | I met some of my best friends on the internet.
Seriously, back in 2013 when I became a lifestyle blogger, I met some of the sweetest friends on the world wide web. They snuck into my comments and my email and my heart. Haha! We bonded over things like singleness, photography, Downton Abbey, outdoor adventures, Jesus, and our unique senses of humor. They are still some of my dearest friends, people who I can talk to about anything in the world, and that is a real gift. And once in a while, we get to see each other in real life and it is the BEST.
